Open Doors Orphanage is currently home to seven beautiful Guatemalan babies, though we have room to house 32 children.  Constructed early in 2011, we received our first babies in December of 2011.  Martin & Elizabeth Chavez, native Guatemalans,  are co-directors of the orphanage and live there full-time with their three children Nohemi, Ruthy and Emmanuel.  The days go quickly at the orphanage, filled with baths, feedings,  diaper changes, and mucho, mucho laundry!!!  Besides just loving on our beautiful babies!

You will notice each of the children’s names listed on the right of this page.  Please click on their names to learn more about each child, how they are doing and their latest adventures!

Please keep Open Doors in your prayers.  For Martin, Elizabeth and the rest of the staff please pray for much energy, good health and wisdom.  Keep the children in your prayers for good health and overall physical and emotional healthy development.  And please pray for more sponsors to come alongside us in ministry, as we cannot take in any more children until we have the funds to do it.  The Guatemalan government comes to us regularly, asking us to take more children and it breaks our hearts to have to turn them away, but we must until we have more sponsors.
